I. GENERAL
The area under consideration for the synthetic turf is a roof top installation. In most cases the General Contractor assumes the responsibility for providing the designated area with specified concrete footer, polyboard nailer, and compacted base to grade and height for installation of turf and finish base materials as follows.
The General Contractor – or other sub contractor - will provide the rooftop with drainage to meet theappropriate storm water management guidelines:
Depending upon the requirement for infiltrated versus an evacuated drainage system over the top of the roof membrane, insulation and drain system, the base will be graded accordingly.
A concrete footer (or nailer support) will be installed to a height of 2 3/4” below final grade.
A polyboard nailer board will be installed with finish at 1 ¼” below final grade.
The General Contractor assumes full responsibility for performance and grade of the roof structure (the roof structure may be – or will be required to support the base), the a footer, the installation of the polyboard nailer, and all work appurtenant to the turf field area.
It will be the responsibility of the Replicated Grass Contractor (TargaPro, Inc.) to provide all labor, materials, equipment and tools necessary for the complete installation of the shock attenuation blanket and the synthetic turf playing field in-filled with “sandless” resilient materials. The work shall include (but not be limited to) the following items:
A.SCOPE OF WORK
Install required (aggregate?) materials (over sub base and nailers prepared by others),as necessary to meet specified finished grade. Final grading will be accomplished against a staked grid of no more than 25 feet to within (plus or minus)1/4”- under a 10’ straight edge.
TargaPro will supply and install the finish grade base compacted to a height 1 ¼” below final grade to allow for EcoFlo™Blanket, EcoGreen66™, and 5/8” of Organite™ infill material to transition height of turf/infill to surrounding surfaces.
TargaPro will supply and install EcoFlo™, an impervious shock attenuation blanket between the stone base and turf layer to insure correct HIC values and G-Max impact rating. A pervious EcoFlo™ drainage blanket can be installed if required to drain through to the roof membrane in accordance with engineering specifications. Attenuation blanket will cover the entire surface that the turf is to cover and will serve either as an impervious drainage blanket to control total storm water management or will serve no viable purpose related to drainage, and will be perforated.
Install the replicated grass with a mono-filament polyethylene fiber which will be 240Micron, 1.3 mm width, non-abrasive, un-fibrillated, 100% polyethylene fiber, measuring 1.50 inches (maximum height of 1.75 inches), stitched in ¼ inch or 3/8inch (maximum) gauge.
Seams are to be installed using a either a specialized seam tape sealed with a device utilizing ultrasonic frequency waves which activates the adhesive in the tape or alternatively, at the option of the installer, seams may be glued using a 12” seam tape and a two part epoxy based adhesive.
Following the seaming of the turf an Anti-Microbial Infill (Organite™) shall be infused into the turf. The entirety of the AMI material shall be coated with the anti-microbial agent, at the production source, prior to shipment to the site. The anti-microbial coating shall have a non-chemical action, which will not dissipate, degrade, deplete or be consumed as a result of its normal function.
