G-max is one of the most talked about safety characteristics of any surface system. As a leader in tynthetic turf field (replicated grass) technology, TargaPro Sport Surfaces is eager to announce the results of the Ultimate G-max test for the TargaPro EcoGreen66™/EcoFlo™system.
Much attention has been paid to initial G‑max readings (ASTM 355A). But there has been a real need in the industry for a way to predict G-max after years of use and compaction in synthetic turf fields.
Testing Services, Inc (TSI) has now developed a test for “Ultimate G-max”™(TSI 128), which predicts the highest potential G-max for a system configuration.

The initial G-max (ASTM355A)is less than 120 (all rubber) and less than 130 (with AMI) and the“Ultimate G-max” is less than 150. This means that after a minimum of 8 years of use (the life of the warranty), the TargaPro EcoGreen66™/EcoFlo™ system is projected to still be yielding G-max readings (ASTM 355A) below 150 – and we’ll back, through our guarantee, that the G-max will not rise above 150.
It is important to note, however, that the TSI 128 test states the specific infill weight and depth used. This is important to enable the purchaser to correlate test results with the product infill depth and weight installed on his field. It is also significant because it clearly demonstrates that TargaPro EcoGreen66™is able to achieve and maintain superlative G-max readings, while remaining true to its design philosophy aimed at maximizing turf density, while minimizing infill weight.
Even more startling is the fact that, the EcoFlo™ shock attenuation and drainage blanket does not change the ball bounce (ASTM F 1551) or feel under-foot.
